Welcome to the Jets Track Club webpage!! The Jets have been in existence for over 30 years and is for anyone ages 8 to 18. You do not have to have any special talents, just a desire to run and learn. In order to join the Jets, you need to complete the following: 1) Notarized Medical Form, 2) Supply a copy of your birth certificate and insurance card, 3) Purchase an AAU card (on the AAU home page choose "My Child Wants to Play Sports" and add club number OZATXDXKCO), 4) Purchase a USATF card, and 5) Pay the $50 registration fee. Each athlete that becomes part of the Jets Track Club will receive a t-shirt that should be worn to practice if possible and may be used as their uniform. ATHLETES CANNOT PRACTICE WITHOUT COMPLETING ALL OF THE ABOVE FOR INSURANCE REASONS!!
The Jets began their outdoor season on April 8 which included a parent meeting Future practices will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:00 p.m. at the Festus High School Track except for the following dates (due to school sponsored functions): April 13, April 29, May 4, May 13, May 20 and May 27. Alternate days of the week may be assigned during those weeks and will be listed on this website.
We are in need of approved coaches from April-May if we are to have this portion of the season available for the younger Jets. Most coaches will not return until the summer months due to their own children participating in school track. IMPORTANT NOTE: All coaching positions are on a volunteer basis. There is no stipend or payment of any type given to the coaches and they must all go through a mandatory background check and be approved by the Jets Board of Directors. Parents are encouraged to listen to coaching techniques so they may also be able to help their own children at meets.
The registration fee does not include entry fees for the track meets. Those outdoor fees are usually between $7-$15 per meet. The Junior Olympics may cost up to $45 if you qualify. Athletes are also responsible for their own travel fees; however, we do try to have fundraisers to help pay for those athletes who qualify for the Junior Olympics. This year, our fundraiser will be the Jets Invitational which will be held on May 23 at the Festus High School Track. We ask that all athletes and their families help with the meet. The AAU Junior Olympics will be held in Hampton Road, Virginia and the USATF Junior Olympics will in Sacramento, California.
